The way to prevent brainwashing is to hold true to one’s ‘Code of Honor’ by LRH

You know what, I do agree with you and I like the code.

The irony here reveals one caveat to applying the code in regards to brainwashing. This Code is just as easily used to prevent brainwashing as it could be used to prevent “un-brainwashing”.

For example, had the code existed during the Korean War the POWs could have been made to apply the Code of Honor rules with the following backwards results:

“Never compromise with your own reality.” — This could be used to keep the POW from compromising his new reality that “Korea is great and the USA is evil”.

“Never withdraw allegiance once granted.” — The brainwashed POW has sworn allegiance to his captors, Korea and China, and now can’t withdraw that allegiance.

“Never desert a group to which you owe your support.” — As discussed in “Influence: the Psychology of Persuasion” by Robert Cialdini (PhD), the methods used by Koreans to influence the POWs also involved giving gifts (being father-like “providers”) and making POWs feel obligated to reciprocate and “owe their support”.

“Never permit your affinity to be alloyed.” — The POW’s existing affinity is for his captors, Korea and China. He has been brainwashed to hate the USA. Despite abuses and insanity, a truly brainwashed POW applying this rule would refuse to see his captors in a bad light and refuse to be “rescued” by the USA.

“Your self-determinism and your honor are more important than your immediate life.” — Now the POW would be willing to honorably die for Korea and China.
